The critically acclaimed band Trees was pretty much a one-man-band but oh what a band it was! Join me when, that one man, Dane Conover shares his musical influences and how they led to the Sleep Convention album and beyond.
Ira Robbins of Trouser Press couldn’t praise the Sleep Convention album enough: He said, “That this album died the commercial death is not just incomprehensible, it’s criminal. ”
Join Doug and Dane Feb. 12, 2009 at 6pm and 9pm Pacific time on FlashbackAlternatives.com on Doug Lynner’s World of Noise.
Oh, yeah! This is going to be a great show! Everyone needs to tune in on this one. Dane is a great songwriter, musician, synthesist, and witty as hell (a ton of fun to work with, too). “Sleep Convention” remains one of my all-time favorite synth/pop/wave albums. Doug, be sure to point everyone over to The RPM Challenge site to hear all of Dane’s latest and greatest. He’s put two album’s worth of brand new material up there in the past two years, and he’s in the middle of tracking the third right now. I’m surprised he’s able to take the time off from the grueling pace of RPM to do your show! Nonetheless, I’ll be there!

Thanks for your post, Christopher, and your mention of the RPM Challenge. I will be publishing an entry in support of the show tomorrow and will be sure to include that.
