I’m doing some research for a future Doug Lynner’s World of Noise Radio Show and I need your help.

What I would like to know is what song/group introduced you to the synthpop genre and any backrgound you would like to share about your introduction.

As an example, for my wife it was Video Killed The Radio Star/The Buggles. She heard it on MTV.

What about you? I’d love to know.

Just leave your information by pressing the “comment” link at the bottom of this post. Be sure to leave your “handle” if you want me to give you a shoutout on the show, and, leave me your email if you want to be informed of the show’s airing.

Thanks!

Doug Lynner’s World of Noise is an Internet radio show on FlashbackAlternatives.com. It’s about what one ’80s new wave/synthpop musician listened to on his way to the great days of ’80s music.

This month’s show features a Musical Masterpiece Mashup made just for the show. It includes piano rolls, synthesizer, piano and sequencers and involves the music of George Gershwin.

Doug Lynner is a founding member of the seminal synthesizer bands Invisible Zoo, Moebius and LEM.

Here are some supporting links for this evening’s show:

Leonid (Lee) Hambro
Lee was the principal pianist for the New York Philharmonic under Leonard Bernstein and was also comedian Victor Borge’s sidekick for ten years.
Here is an obituary I wrote for my friend and teacher.
Here is a YouTube video of Hambro and Borge performing.
Here is an interview with Lee about his time with Victor Borge.

Doug Lynner’s World of Noise repeats this Friday at 2am ET and Sunday at 9am ET.
